We’re bringing a new member into our Baki Inspired Workouts!
We have a ton in there already, but now it’s time to add the son of Kaiou Kaku: Shunsei!
Your favorite routines are obviously both of our Baki routines, but some of you also prefer some of the behemoths, and Shunsei is right there in the middle of being a behemoth and just big and shredded like Baki – which makes him a fun character to be building a workout for.
We also immediately know he’s super powerful considering he’s Kaiou Kaku’s son; so be ready for some intensity.
Shunsei Kaku Stats:
Real Name: Shunsei Kaku
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Anime: Baki
Powers: No
Shunsei Kaku’s stats are unknown, but he is listed as a “tall muscular man” (the muscular part is quite obvious), which generally means anywhere from 5’10-6’4 range.
Baki characters tend to be taller than most, so we can assume he’s over six feet tall and pushing into our behemoth category within our Anime Workouts Database.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Shunsei Kaku Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Shunsei Kaku Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
Right off the bat I can tell you that we don’t have as much information on Shunsei Kaku as we’re used to with our Baki characters, but the information we do have combined with his massive shredded physique will be enough to build out this routine.
Here’s how they start off his Wiki Fandom page:
Shunsei Kaku is a fictional character from manga series of Baki. He is the son of Kaiou Kaku. He was conceived when Kaku was 120 years old. He is known as “Shunsei the Crazy Beast”.
I mean, who wouldn’t want to be known as the Crazy Beast!?
Trick question.
From there the rest of the information is what we’re used to having more in, so I’m actually going to share his history as well, which they tell us this for:
He and Shobun Ron are summoned by his father to help win the tournament. He is defeated by Baki in two seconds. He is told by his father to give up martial arts.
BUT, here’s what they tell us about his abilities:
The extent of Shunsei’s abilities is unknown, but from what can be garnered from his short fight with Baki Hanma, he seems to be quite fast, but slower than Baki. Despite being called the “Invincible Beast” he was easily given a concussion by Baki with just one punch to the jaw, implying that he had never faced anyone as tough as Baki and easily won his matches and also implying that his neck isn’t strong enough to handle punches from fighters that are on Baki’s level of strength.
So even though we’re going to be training around an insane physique, we won’t be training around one of the most powerful Baki characters we’ve ever seen, so it’ll give me a chance to scale it back a bit and build this one out around an intermediate level routine.
That means the goals for our Shunei Kaku Inspired Workout are:
- Shunsei’s Massive Shredded Physique
- Shunsei’s Fighter Body Control
- Shunsei’s Strength and Speed (Albeit not as much as Baki)
We’ll be able to do all of this with a fun hybrid build mixing calisthenics and weight training to get both massive muscle and strength and body control and speed!
And although we’re working around an intermediate level workout, if you feel like it’s a bit too advanced you can start with either our Beginner Behemoth Workout or Beginner Ninja Workout.
