Love him or hate him, Akaza is definitely not only one of the strongest Demon Slayer villains, but also one of the best.
And of course we’ve already had Akaza on the site with our original Akaza Inspired Workout, but this time we’re going to be making one that revolves entirely around bodyweight training.
We also recently saw him on our social feed as one of the more muscular Demon Slayer characters as well (he actually came in the runner ups section), which is what I believe made you guys flood the request form for a calisthenics version.
Either way he’s joining some elite company within our Demon Slayer Workouts Database.
Akaza Stats:
Real Name: Akaza
Height: 5’8
Weight: 163 lbs.
Anime: Demon Slayer
Powers: Yes
Akaza comes in right around average height among male anime characters, though originally he would have been a few inches above it before we started seeing more and more behemoths within our Anime Workouts Database.
Either way he has nearly a foot to go if he wants to be classified as one of them…
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Akaza Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Akaza Calisthenics Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Akaza I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with what they give us for his bio section here:
Akaza is a major supporting antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the third highest position, Upper Rank Three. Over a century ago, Akaza was a human by the name of Hakuji, a prodigious martial artist who trained under Keizo while nursing his daughter, Koyuki, who would later become Akaza’s fiancée.
Right off the bat we know Akaza is extremely powerful considering his background and the fact that he is the Upper Rank Three just below Kokushibo and Doma.
That said, they also make immediate mention to his muscular aesthetic when we move into his appearance section here:
Akaza is a very muscular young man of average height with skin so fair, it appears bright green-tinged white, decorated by a pattern of thick blue lines, which resemble the criminal tattoos he had as a human.
And when we move further down into his abilities section it all begins to become very clear that we have our work cut out for us with this one.
They start off by discussing his overall abilities here:
Overall Abilities: As the holder of the third highest position in the Twelve Kizuki, Akaza is an exceptionally powerful demon, having been able to singlehandedly defeat Kyojuro Rengoku and numerous Hashira as well as countless Demon Slayers in the past. Akaza possesses incredible abilities and attributes, most notably his martial arts prowess, which can outmatch the swordsmanship of even the most skilled Demon Slayers, and his ability to sense Fighting Spirit which allows him to predict his opponent’s attacks and discern their weaknesses, making him nigh-unbeatable if they are unable to create a countermeasure against this ability.
As a child without martial arts training, Akaza could defeat and knock grown men unconscious on his own. At the age of 18, after learning the Soryu Style from Keizo, he was capable of singlehandedly annihilating 67 trained adult swordsmen with his bare fists, a feat which even Muzan thought was performed by a demon.
From there they move on to discuss his immense durability, extrasensory perception, indomitable will, and tactical intellect before moving into some of the physical abilities we’re really going to be working with for this one.
When we move into his physical abilities we learn this about him:
Immense Speed & Reflexes: Akaza is extremely fast, as shown during his fight with Kyojuro when he moves at imperceptible speeds, moving so quickly that even Tanjiro and Inosuke couldn’t perceive his blisteringly fast movements, the latter even remarking that he was in “a different dimension”. This is further exemplified from the fact that he could move in bursts of speed so fast that he appears to teleport, which he frequently displayed, managing to do so even for Tanjiro who can smell and discern future events. Akaza has shown to be more than capable of keeping up with the movements and reflexes of the Hashira, the most powerful and skilled combatants in the Demon Slayer Corps, and can even easily out-speed and overpower them. Even Giyu, one of the fastest Demon Slayers, was instantly matched by Akaza in speed despite him awakening the Demon Slayer Mark just moments before.
Immense Strength: Akaza possesses incredulous physical strength, which has been showcased multiple times, most notably when he punches or kicks, which is strong enough to break the ground and easily kill people. Every one of his strikes is strong enough to cause cuts, shatter ribs, smash eyes and later pierce the body of Kyojuro Rengoku, a Hashira who possesses above average durability. Akaza also easily broke Giyu’s sword in half with a single side punch and completely shattered Tanjiro’s Nichirin Sword with a flurry of punches. He was also shown to be capable of destroying the head and jaw of Upper Rank Two, Doma, despite the latter possessing higher levels of durability. Furthermore, Akaza could tear through the Infinity Castle with ease, even causing massive tremors in his wake. Combined with his Blood Demon Art, his strength is further increased, allowing him to cause craters in the ground by simply punching it.
When he was a human at the age of 11, he is able to completely knock several grown men unconscious in a fight with nothing but his bare fists and legs. At the age of 18, even before he became a demon, he is easily able to decapitate, dismember and mutilate 67 armed adult kendo masters with his bare fists, to the point that even Muzan thought that it is a demon who performed these feats.
On top of his muscular physique we’ll also be prioritizing speed and strength, which will fit together nicely.
We also need to remember he’s a master hand to hand combatant who began his training so early he was already superior to several grown men at the age of 11.
That’s why our calisthenics programming will also revolve around staying lean and agile with great body control.
That means the goals for our Akaza Inspired Calisthenics Workout are:
- Akaza’s Shredded Muscular Physique
- Akaza’s Strength and Speed
- Akaza’s Ninja-Like Body Control
I’m going to be throwing in extra calisthenics holds that might make it feel a bit more advanced than it actually is, but you can scale those down, cut them out, or even just throw them in from time to time when you’re ready to step it up a notch or two.
And if the routine itself feels a bit too advanced you can also start off with our Beginner Ninja Workout which is a beginner bodyweight routine, or even one of our other Beginner Workouts.
That said, though, this one should come in around an intermediate level and should be capable of being scaled both up or down.
