I loved Jiro the first time I read through the manga, and I have been waiting for him to get his shot to land inside our Jujutsu Kaisen Workouts Database.
And yes, I may have cheated a bit and pushed him up the list ever-so-slightly.
Jiro still obviously deserves his slot among our Anime Workouts Database, but you guys still needed a handful more votes coming in the workout requests to really get him here for January – so I pulled the executive card to cheat for him a bit.
I’m sure my JJK fans will have my back on this one.
Before we start, I should mention: I’m adding Jiro into our Calisthenics Workouts – so you can stick around if you’re a bodyweight member of The SHJ Army.
Jiro Awasaka Stats:
Real Name: Jira Awasaka
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Anime: Jujutsu Kaisen
Powers: Yes
I saw some fan guesstimates online, but the range of them were so wide I decided not to share.
That said, the height and weight don’t matter as much considering we have a good view of his overall aesthetic.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Jiro Awasaka Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Jiro Awasaka Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Jiro Awasaka we’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page, starting with his brief bio section here:
Jiro Awasaka is a curse user who used to kill and collect money as much as he pleased until Satoru Gojo was born. He was recruited for the Shibuya Incident by Pseudo-Geto and Uraume to guard a set of commissioned curtains and kill jujutsu sorcerers.
This doesn’t tell us much about what we need for our workout, but we’re getting there.
Here’s what they tell us for his appearance section (which will be a big part of he workout):
Awasaka is a short elderly man with a defined muscular tone to his body despite his old age. He has large round eyes with dark pupils and black hair. Awasaka is mostly bald but he has a tussle of hair on the top that’s a similar shape to the goatee on his chin. He also sports thick eyebrows and a handlebar mustache.
In his youth over twenty years ago, Awasaka had a full head of black hair and a thin beard. He wore casual clothing including a navy blue sweater. Awasaka currently wears a white t-shirt tucked into the tall haramaki sash around his waist where he keeps his knife. He completes his outfit with a yellow haramaki around his waist and tight athletic shorts that show off his defined legs as well shoes that look more like socks.
Maybe I like Jiro so much because I aspire to be him one day.
The short old man that’s jacked.
From there we can move down into his powers and abilities section.
Here’s what they start by breaking down for us:
Overall Skill: Awasaka is a tough, close-combat type fighter with experience in the art of killing. Most of his work came against victims incapable of fighting back, but even in his old age, Awasaka was effective in battling other sorcerers.
Awasaka’s experience is made clear by his ability to his innate technique and cursed energy manipulation to make himself nigh-invulnerable in battle. It was also shown in his hand-to-hand combat skills, capable of taking on two much younger jujutsu sorcerers at the same time. He believes the harder his opponent’s fight, the easier it is for him to win.
Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Awasaka is a very capable close-quarters combatant who likes to throw a mix of hand strikes and athletic kicks. He was confident in taking on both Yuji and Megumi at the same time, two very proficient hand-to-hand fighters. Awasaka user is good at picking his shots, using a wait and counter fighting style that plays to the strengths of his cursed technique. No one has ever been able to dodge Awasaka’s counter-attack after a desperate full swing at him.
This is where we really learn what we’re working with.
The last bit I want to add about Jiro is his innate technique which is:
Inverse: While Awasaka’s technique is activated, attacks become weaker the stronger they are and stronger the weaker they are. There is a maximum and minimum limit to how much of an impact can be affected by the technique. Awasaka protects himself with cursed energy on top of inverse to effectively nullify all of his opponent’s attacks.
It’s pretty clear what we’re looking to accomplish for this one.
The goals of our Jiro Awasaka Inspired Workout are:
- Jiro Awasaka’s Muscular and Toned Aesthetic
- Jiro Awasaka’s Strength and Speed
- Jiro Awasaka’s Fighter Mobility
This one won’t extremely advanced, but we ARE dealing with an extremely powerful character, so it won’t be easier, either.
That said, the best option from our Beginner Workouts to start with if this one feels a bit too advanced, would be our Beginner Ninja Workout or even our Beginner Speedster Workout.

Jiro Awasaka Workout Routine
Training Volume:
4+ days per week
Explanation:
The reason I went with this specific split for Jiro Awasaka is not only because he’s jacked, but also because it’s super easy to scale. You can easily cut out the jump ropes entirely, scale it down to easier work, and/or even cut off 1-3 of the supersets entirely each day. That said, we’ll have 4 days of calisthenics training, a day devoted to endurance, and a final day for our Curse User Circuit Test that you can do weekly, biweekly or monthly.
Jump Rope / Toe Taps / Jumping Jacks Explanation:
I’m going to be using JR/TT/JJ as an abbreviation below, and you can complete anywhere from 25-100 depending on which you choose (I generally do 50-100 jump rope, but you can scale accordingly).
Want To Upgrade This Workout?
The Superhero Academy now comes with an Upgrade Your Workout Tool that allows Academy members to turn any SHJ workout into a 4-8 week fully planned regime detailing exact weights to lift and including reverse & traditional pyramid training, straight sets, super sets, progressive overload and more.
