We’ve already had our original Gambit Inspired Workout hit the site a while back, and that one is built around bodyweight training.
So all of our weight training crew, this one is for you.
If you want bodyweight training you can jump over to that original workout or even head into the full Calisthenics Workouts Database.
We’re on a bit of a tear with X-Men 97 hitting the site and we have had quite a few characters join our X-Men Inspired Workouts – with a handful still to come (blowing up the request form)!
Gambit Stats:
Real Name: Remy LeBeau
Height: 6’2
Weight: 179 lbs.
Comics: Marvel Comics
Powers: Yes
Gambit is actually fairly tall, but still nearly half a foot off what we’d consider being a behemoth.
And his 180 pounds shows he has a decent amount of muscle mass, but nothing in comparison to some of our massively large characters.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Gambit Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Gambit Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Gambit we’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom starting with a brief bio section.
Here’s how they break that down:
Remy LeBeau, better known as the charming thief Gambit, is a mutant with the ability to charge inanimate objects and cause them to explode. Raised by the Thieves Guild, Gambit’s dark path led him to become a secret agent for the vile Mister Sinister. After befriending fellow mutant thief, Storm, he was invited to the X-Men, and had the opportunity to redeem himself.
Although he morally conflicted with much of the X-Men’s way of acting, Gambit’s soft spot for abandoned kids caused him to integrate well into the team while getting close to many of its members, especially Rogue whom he developed a romance with. Although a longtime member of the X-Men, upon the public reveal of his association with Sinister, the X-Men rejected his membership, though he eventually made it back to the team. Shortly after getting married to Rogue, Gambit joined most of mutantkind on the mutant nation of Krakoa. Gambit then joined the diplomatic team Excalibur to keep an eye on Apocalypse.
And this is just the beginning of what we’ll pull from Gambit’s background.
I’m going to skip right past his appearance section because I think we’re all clear on the goals there, but I’ll move right down into a bit about his abilities, which they start with this:
Molecular Acceleration: Remy has the power to take the potential energy stored in an object and convert it to kinetic energy, thus “charging” that item with explosive results. He prefers to charge smaller objects, such as his ever-present playing cards, as the time required to charge them is greatly reduced and they are much easier for him to throw. The only real limitation to this ability is the time required to charge the object. The larger it is, the more time it takes.
They go on to expand on this with a bit more information.
The biggest bit we’ll need to focus on is this:
Enhanced Conditioning: Gambit’s ability to tap energy also grants him increased speed, strength, reflexes and reactions, flexibility, dexterity, coordination, balance, and endurance as a side effect, bestowing him an added edge he has used to his advantage by developing a unique acrobatic fighting style. Under normal circumstances, the physical “charge” he receives makes his abilities exceptional, but not quite superhuman.
They go on to discuss a bunch more about his specific abilities, but I want to jump forward a bit and discuss some of the more physical abilities that we’ll want to use for our workout.
Here’s what I’m talking about:
Master Marksman: He is extremely skilled in throwing small objects such as cards, bolas, knives, and balls with great accuracy.
Master Martial Artist: A profound fighter, often employing martial arts, street fighting, and acrobatics. He is well adept in the martial arts Savate (French kickboxing), and Bojutsu, the art of using a Bo staff.
Master Stick Fighter: Remy’s extreme skills in Bojutsu makes him dangerously skilled in the use of his bo staff.
Master Thief
Which makes our objectives pretty clear.
The goals for our Gambit Inspired Workout are going to be:
- Gambit’s Lean and Muscular Aesthetic
- Gambit’s Enhanced Conditioning
- Gambit’s Fighter/Thief Mobility
To do this we’re going to be using weight training this time around, and we’ll have a decent amount of intensity – but all fitness levels should be able to jump right in.
That said, if you’re an extreme beginner you can also start with one of our Beginner Workouts and then work your way up to this one.
Check out all The SHJ Programs and start unleashing your inner SuperHuman.
