Our Kratos Workout, AKA our God of War Workout, is one of our most popular workout routines on the site.
So, it only seemed fitting to host another God of War character during this video games inspired workout week.
Which means, if you missed the memo: we also had a brand new “The Last Of Us” Workout Routine as well.
Kratos’ Workout made it to the list of the Top Character Workout Routines, but we’ve also compiled a full database of Video Game Inspired Workouts as well.
And that’s just an expansion on our Workout Database, which is now the most comprehensive on the internet!
Baldur Stats:
Height: 5’10-5’11
Weight: Unknown
Real Name: Baldur
Powers: Yes
Video Game: God of War
Kratos, who stands in at 6’6, towers of Baldur, who comes in at what would be considered below average height among male characters and celebrities that we’ve seen at SHJ.
Ironically enough, though, it is roughly the same height as all the other men we’ve seen this week (Michael C. Hall’s Workout, Scott Eastwood’s Workout, and Joel from The Last Of Us Workout).
Vegeta were tied Wolverine for the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Baldur Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Baldur Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To start us off we’ll actually be talking a bit about Baldur’s background from a Norse Mythology standpoint, although I’ll still be taking it right from his Wiki Fandom page like we’re used to utilizing for our character research.
Here’s what they have to share with us:
Baldr was the son of Odin (the King of the Gods) and his wife Frigg. He was known to be beautiful and was the favorite of the Æsir gods.
Most legends about him concern his death. After he and Frigg had a dream in which they saw his death (with dreams being prophetic in Norse mythology), Frigg asked everything in creation to promise to not harm Baldr, only forgetting to ask mistletoe, as she thought it was “too young” to swear an oath. Icelandic stories tell how the gods amused themselves by throwing objects at him (knowing that he was immune from harm). The blind god Höd, (Baldr’s twin brother) deceived by Loki, killed Baldr by hurling mistletoe, the only thing that could hurt him.
After Baldr’s funeral, the messenger Hermod was sent to Hel, the goddess of the land of the dead also known as Hel, to ask for Baldr’s return. Hel asked that every being in creation weep for Baldr, and every being did, except the giantess Thökk (who was Loki in disguise), who refused to weep the tears that would release Baldr from death.
Baldr’s death was the start of Ragnarök: The Death of the Norse Gods and end of the Nine Realms.
However, it is known that after Ragnarok, Baldr, along with Hod, would come back to life and become the new ruler of the peaceful land.
And, if not perfect enough, they even describe his overall physical appearance for us as well.
I know what you’re thinking “Uh, Mike…I can clearly see the pictures you shared of him”.
Which is true, but this gives us a bit more detail to work with, on top of the pictures; especially if there are any cosplayers out there!
Here’s what his Wiki tells us:
Baldur is of average height and has an extremely lean, hard physique. His build is unique, as it makes him seem small in comparison to the other male gods in the series, who are generally of towering height and sport broad, heavily muscled builds. His most striking features are his woad-blue tattoos of Norse runes, which coat large portions of his limbs and torso and his eyes, which are distinctly icy blue, particularly noticeable when the camera is close-up.
He has handsome (if haggard) features, with a beaded but unkempt brownish beard and a shaggy, beaded horse-mane hairstyle. He wears a red belt, a hip pouch and a thin string of charms over a torn brown waistcloth sash, which is worn over loose, black cloth pants, bound at the calves with brown leather straps. He wears no top and no shoes.
Oh, and to top this off, he’s also immortal.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
He actually has quite the list of powers and abilities. Which I suppose you’d expect from a God; especially one that is the son of Odin!
Here’s a list of his powers and abilities, and if you’d like full descriptions you can hop over to the full Wiki Fandom page linked to above:
- Superhuman Strength
- Superhuman Durability
- Immortality
- Regenerative Healing Factor
- Light Manipulation
- Superhuman Speed and Agility
- Invulnerability
- Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant
As well as having additional elemental affinities, and being an expert tracker, this is quite the list for us to work with.
I also really like this one because while we normally automatically think of “Superhuman Strength” having to come with bulking up and gaining mass, we can actually work on getting super-strong with a maintenance or even a recomp while staying lean and toned with the rest of our training.
Which basically is a fancy way of saying that we’re still shooting for a Superhero Physique, while also being able to lift heavy weights and add in extra speed, agility, and fat loss training from a variety of other training methods.

Baldur Workout: Long Distance Endurance Work
For your endurance work you’ll be either running or working your way up to a run.
I don’t think they supply Baldur with any Ellipticals or Bikes up in Valhalla, so the only alternative would be to row!
Here’s how you can format it based on your overall fitness level:
Beginner: 1-3 miles
Intermediate: 3-5 miles
Advanced: 5+ miles
And, if you need any help preparing for this, you can also take it slow by using some of our Couch to 5K (or 10K) programming!
