I am currently on a Hunter x Hunter binge.
I originally watched one season in between some other shows I was watching just to get a feel for it and now I’m finally back, binging and loving it!
After this week we’ll have six and be closer to a nice top ten list, and even only a few off of being able to warrant a mini database to add to our Anime Workouts Database.
Real Name: Kurapika
Weight: 130 lbs.
Anime: Hunter X Hunter
Kurapika comes in at a shorter range compared to other male characters and other male celebrities, but compared to anime males he’s really not all that short.
Although he definitely doesn’t compare to some of them like All Might, Armstrong, White Beard and more.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Kurapika Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Kurapika Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
We’re going to start off with Kurapika’s Wiki Fandom page to discuss a brief bio just to get an idea of who we’re working with here.
Here’s what they lead with for his character:
Kurapika is the last survivor of the Kurta Clan. He is a Blacklist Hunter and the current leader of the organization founded by Light Nostrade. He is a member of the Zodiacs with the codename “Rat“. His goal is to avenge his clan and recover the remaining Scarlet Eyes. He takes the role of main protagonist in the Yorknew City and Succession Contest arcs.
With that Kurapika has a ton of powers and abilities we need to disuss.
Let’s start by talking about those that come from him being a hunter:
Kurapika has all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter. As a Zodiac, his authority in the Hunter Association is inferior only to that of the chairman herself. Being Light Nostrade’s right-hand man, he had power over the clan and is now the boss of Light’s new organization. Kurapika’s powers increase greatly as the series progresses. Hisoka was the first to grow interested in him, listing him as one of the “green fruit” with vast potential. Although at the beginning he was weaker than Killua, during the Yorknew City arc he had become stronger than him due to his Nen abilities. He is one of the few characters (the others being Hisoka and Silva) to have killed a member of the infamous Phantom Troupe, and a very potent one. His exceptional intelligence is matched by high combat prowess and iron will that stems from his desire for revenge. He is also very versatile as he has been seen wielding different weapons. In his showdown with Uvogin, he used his chains when afar and at close quarter combat. While he usually maintains a calm and collected persona, he tends to lose his cool whenever the Phantom Troupe or his clan, are nominated, often turning violent.
Along with this Kurapika’s abilities seem almost endless on his Wiki Fandom.
For that reason I’ll be listing them as bullet points but I’ll be cutting the description for each of them to save us space leading into our workout we’ll build based on this:
- Scarlet Eyes
- Advanced Hearing
- Preternatural Perception
- Enhanced Strength
- Enhanced Speed and Reflexes
- Enhanced Agility
- Enhanced Endurance
- Genius-Level Intellect
- Master Strategist
- Proficient Hand-to-Hand Combatant
- Master Weapon Specialist
The main things we’ll be focusing in on while building out the routine are enhanced strength, enhanced agility, enhanced endurance and even hand-to-hand combatant.
If you guys have watched the first couple seasons you’ll remember when Kurapika and Leorio are training to help Gon visit Killua. They did a bunch of training for this but one of the main things was the fact that they were wearing weighted vested throughout the entirety of it.
For this reason we’ll also be doing some training with weighted vests two times a week!
Get ready for a nice mix of weight, calisthenics, endurance and high intensity interval training.
