We are on a freakin’ roll for our Demon Slayer Inspired Workouts, adding some of our former Hashira to the growing list of awesomeness.
We added Kanae Kocho and Jigoro Kuwajima already, and now it’s time for Sakonji Urokodaki – the former Water Hashira!
In our other former Hashira inspired workouts this week I mentioned the fact that we already saw our current Hashira in our list of The Most Powerful Demon Slayer Characters of All Time.
But we obviously have to give credit to our mentors as well – and they will also be a great addition within our overall Anime Workouts Database and Demon Slayer Workout Placement Quiz.
Sakonji Urokodaki Stats:
Real Name: Sakonji Urokodaki
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Anime: Demon Slayer
Powers: Yes
Like our other former Hashira that we’ve seen this week, we don’t have a specific height and weight listed for Sakonji Urokodaki.
But from what we’ve seen of him we can assume he’s of an average build.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Sakonji Urokodaki Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Sakonji Urokodaki Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To get us started with our research into the former Water Hashira, we’re going to be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page.
They have his initial bio section as such:
Sakonji Urokodaki is a retired member of the Demon Slayer Corps, having held the position of the previous Water Hashira . He is the main cultivator of the Water Breathing, having trained Giyu Tomioka, Tanjiro Kamado, Sabito and Makomo.
From there we can pull out a bit about what they give us about his slightly unknown history:
Not much is known about Sakonji’s past, however he was a Demon Slayer in his youth, and was also the one responsible for capturing the Hand Demon. He would then go on to become the Water Hashira for an undisclosed period of time, before retiring to become one of the cultivators of Water Breathing swordsmen.
When they begin moving into his powers and abilties section, like Jigoro Kuwajima, they don’t have as much as we’re used to see among our Demon Slayer characters.
Here’s how they break down some of his Water Breathing techniques:
Water Breathing: Sakonji is the primary instructor of this Breathing Style. He has taught ten breathing techniques to both Tanjiro Kamado and the successor of his former position as Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka. The user can increase the amount of oxygen in one’s blood by controlling their breathing pattern. Doing this increases his strength and agility to equal a Demon’s. It is currently unknown what his level of skill while utilizing this style is, but it can be assumed that he was a formidable swordsman as a former Hashira.
They also make mention to his enhanced sense of smell, which we’ve also seen from Tanjiro.
For this one we are definitely not going to want to take his powers lightly just because we don’t have a ton of information.
Urokodaki is one of the most powerful Hashira we know of – past and present – if we speak to his prime.
For this reason we will be training for strength, endurance, speed, and all around well rounded superhuman abilities.

Sakonji Urokodaki Workout Routine
Training Volume:
4-6+ days per week
For this one we’re going to be training with 4 days of strength and speed and 1-2 days of endurance work. If you want to train to become an extremely powerful Water Hashira you’ll want to take on all of this training, but it is also a ton of volume and scaling can be done by cutting the endurance requirements.
