It’s time to bring in another popular Dr. Stone character.
Actually, Gen Asagiri came in among the top five most popular Dr. Stone characters.
While he might not be the first character you think of to get a workout routine, but that’s part of what I like about our Dr. Stone characters and the fact that we’re building them out here at SHJ.
We get to see characters ranging from shredded and muscular like Tsukasa and Hyoga to characters like Gen, Senku and even a middle ground like Kohaku.
And with that amount we are actually very close to on our way to having a Dr. Stone mini database within our Anime Workouts Database.
(Update: By the end of creating this workout for you guys I decided to go and put together our Dr. Stone Inspired Workouts Database early as we continue to build it out).
Gen Asagiri Stats:
Real Name: Gen Asagiri
Height: 5’9
Weight: 134 lbs.
Anime: Dr. Stone
Powers: No
Gen Asagiri is actually quite tall, but very light for his height.
He’s obviously not one of the tallest we’ve seen, but slightly above average if compared to other male anime characters.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Gen Asagiri Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Gen Asagiri Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about what we’re going to be doing to build this one out we’ll be pulling from Gen’s Wiki Fandom page, which starts us off with this:
Gen Asagiri is an enemy-turned-ally of Senku. Originally de-petrified by Tsukasa Shishio, he was sent to find Senku, only to defect to the Kingdom of Science.
Ironically, he is the kind of person whom Tsukasa wished to not revive: a greedy man who cares only about his own desires. However, Tsukasa was desperate for a brilliant mind like Senku’s to help him. Gen later becomes one of the Five Wise Commanders.
As one of the Five Wise Commanders, Gen is the most strategic about how to carry out missions, often finding ways to avoid labor if he can. When it comes to enemies, Gen acts as a tactical forecaster. Kaseki tends to drag him along to help with crafting if Chrome is busy with Senku.
As I mentioned above, we’re not going to be dealing with intensity and heavy volume like we would be with Tsukasa or Hyoga, but we’re still working around a fan favorite that has had a ton of impact on the anime.
Gen Asagiri is actually more similar to Senku though, where his abilities actually come from his brain more than his physical abilities.
Here’s how they break down his abilites:
Psychology: As a mentalist, he is deeply perceptive and manipulative, having a large knowledge of the human psyche. He is capable of analyzing and understanding obscure messages or drawings with his great knowledge about the human mind; he was able to decipher Kohaku’s message by understanding what each image represented from her point of view. Gen is also able to “put [himself] in the mind[s] of [others]”, correctly figuring out what they are thinking or planning. Gen is very crafty, as he anticipated being attacked and created fake blood packs to wear for a visual trick and to soften blows to his body. This saved him from being killed by Magma.
And, considering we don’t have physical abilities to build around I’ll be continuing to break down his psychological abilities:
- Skilled Liar: Gen is an expert liar, as he can fool anyone. When it comes to the post-petrification humans, Gen can easily impress and trick them into believing his tall tales. Though he is equally good at manipulating people from his era (minus Senku, whom he often collaborates with in these cases) with his showmanship. Gen has stated that the best trick of a mentalist is to “make your joker look like the ace of spades”. He was also able to fool a polygraph test, with only half-truths. This left Dr. Xeno amazed, even when the scientist suspected Gen of lying.
- Manipulation: Gen has three steps to manipulate someone into working for his goals, should the person be strong-willed and therefore hard to trick (like Moz). 1) Stand by them to build a sense of comradery; standing across from them makes the conversation feel adversarial. 2) Give inaccurate information relevant to the conversation; it will force the target to correct you and give up the correct information. 3) Order them to do the opposite of what you want them to do. Human beings naturally refuse an order by nature, choosing to do the opposite. His manipulation tactics are quickly seen when he goads Kinro and Ginro into helping Senku power-up an electricity generator.
- Stage Magic: Gen is a master of sleight of hand. He also keeps various props hidden within his coat, so he may cause distractions or fake “peace offerings” to buy time. He makes use of this immediately after arriving into the village, distracting the hostile villagers planning to attack Senku.
- Impersonation: He also makes for a very convincing female if the need to disguise himself comes up, with Kohaku stating that his only flaw was that he was too tall for a convincing woman. He is capable of mimicking people’s voices to the point of being indiscernible from the original.
- Linguistic Proficiency: He seems to be fluent in both Japanese and English. He was able to understand Ukyo when he was speaking English through the buried phone in order to conceal their conversation from the others present and offered Senku to take over the negotiation. He was able to speak to both Stanley Snyder and Dr. Xeno with no problems.
None of which we’ll be able to actually build a routine around, if I’m being honest.
So in this case we’re actually going to be using basic calisthenics training and cardio to revolve around Gen’s lean and toned physique.
When I say basic I mean we’re going to be using movements that make this one perfect for a beginner to intermediate level – which I love doing with characters every once in a while to make it varied and diverse for all our different members and fitness levels inside The SHJ Army.
