Our Record of Ragnarok Inspired Workout Database is filling up quickly – and it’s time for Poseidon to finally enter the arena.
Last week we saw opponent, Kojiro Sasaki, and you guys know how I like going back and forth through our reps from humanity and and the gods – so this weeks choice was obvious.
Poseidon made it onto our list of the strongest Record of Ragnarok characters, and for good reason – and he’s also a fan favorite – coming in as one of the most popular just behind the handful of characters we’ve already seen (based on the SHJ Army’s requests).
We need one more character from ROR to make our ROR Workout Placement Quiz, so that should be here in the next week or so, but for now Poseidon will live within our Anime Workout Placement Quizzes for you guys.
Poseidon Stats:
Real Name: Poseidon
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Anime: Record of Ragnarok
Powers: Yes
There’s no exact height and weight for ROR’s Poseidon, but we do know he comes in as a tall and lean character.
I don’t know if I’d consider him a behemoth among our male characters within our Anime Workouts Database, but he’s definitely taller than average.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Poseidon Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Poseidon Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Poseidon I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom, and starting us off with this bio section they share:
Poseidon is the Gods’ representative in the third round of Ragnarok, going against Kojiro Sasaki. He is a prominent deity in the Greek Pantheon; being the God of the Seas.
Poseidon has various titles, such as: “Tyrant of the Ocean“, “Most Fearsome God“, “The God of Gods“, and “Zeus Enalios“.
When we move into his powers and abilities we really begin to learn what we’ll be focusing on for this one.
They start us off with some information about his overall abilities and power level here:
Overall Abilities: Poseidon is considered to be the most fearsome among the Gods, so much so that even other Gods were afraid of invoking his wrath. He effortlessly killed the God of Conquest and his older brother, Adamas, in a single blow. He’s a son of Kronos and a possible participant of the Titanomachy, having complete control over the ocean and being powerful enough to be compared to the Supreme Greek God, Zeus.
With that they also go on to list off information about his Trident Proficiency, Divine Physiology, Semi-Immortality, and Hydrokinesis, but we’ll be more focused on his physical abilities for this one.
They give us a large breakdown of this here:
Godly Strength: Poseidon possesses phenomenal physical strength, displayed when he effortlessly impaled a God and even flinging him across the room with so much force that a large indent was left on the wall with nothing but a swing with his trident. Poseidon’s strength was further demonstrated throughout his fight with Kojiro Sasaki with each and every one of his swings capable of impaling and annihilating Kojiro. Poseidon managed to break Kojiro’s divine weapon in two effortlessly and was even strong enough to crush his own arm.
Godly Speed & Reflexes: Poseidon displayed unfathomable movement speed, shown when he deflected and dodged all of Kojiro Sasaki’s sword swings effortlessly. As the battle progressed, Poseidon started moving more seriously, his speed easily being able to overwhelm Kojiro, moving faster than he can anticipate or register. His trident techniques are also so fast that they create afterimages.
Godly Stamina & Endurance: Poseidon possesses godly stamina and endurance, cutting him all across his body, Poseidon remained calm and didn’t even seem fazed in the slightest. Poseidon’s immense pain tolerance was also demonstrated when he continued to fight on, even after losing both his arms, only being put down after finally being quartered by the wandering swordsmen’s final attack.
Our priorities are pretty clear for this one, and I can break them down for you next.
Our goals for this workout are:
- Poseidon’s Large Muscular, but Lean Physique
- Poseidon’s Godly Strength and Speed
- Poseidon’s Godly Stamina and Endurance
For this one we’ll be training with weights, so if you’re a calisthenics member of The SHJ Army I suggest heading back into our Anime Workouts and sorting by calisthenics, or even over into our full calisthenics workouts database instead.
Be ready for heavy lifting and a lot of volume, because we’re training to be a god.
