After reading the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Choso is definitely (currently) one of my favorite characters.
Not only is he extremely powerful, but he also adds another layer of humor and fun to the manga/anime.
He didn’t quite make it onto our lists of the most powerful Jujutsu Kaisen characters or even the most popular Jujutsu Kaisen characters, but that’s only because we were keeping it to characters already in the anime (although Choso is coming)!
I also have to make a bit of a confession being that I saw a couple requests for Choso come through and decided to immediately bump him up the list and get him in this week even though he technically didn’t have enough to be a top priority.
We haven’t had a new character added to our Jujutsu Kaisen Inspired Workouts in a while so that was another reason I wanted to bump him up the list – but I’m sure all the JJK fans in The SHJ Army will forgive me.

Choso is actually pretty tall.
He’d definitely be considered above average among male anime characters but he just misses the mark for being considered a behemoth.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.

Choso Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Choso Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Choso I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with his bio section which they give us this for:
Choso is a supporting character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He and his two brothers, Kechizu and Eso are incarnated Cursed Womb: Death Paintings No. 1-3. Choso initially sided with Kenjaku’s alliance with Mahito until he discovered one of the curse user’s past identities was the cruel father of the Death Painting Wombs, Noritoshi Kamo. He also found out that Yuji Itadori is another relative of Kenjaku’s and has aligned himself with his new “younger brother”.
When we move into his powers and abilities we learn a lot more about how powerful Choso is and how we’ll need to be building out this workout.
Here’s how they break it down:
Overall Skill Level: Choso is ranked special grade and is exceptionally powerful even by cursed spirit standards. While still existing as a cursed object, Choso was intelligent and self-aware, allowing him to hone his cursed techniques for 150 years. By the time he was incarnated, Choso had already mastered Blood Manipulation to a level that far surpasses the current Noritoshi Kamo.
During his minimal role in the battle to seal Satoru Gojo, Choso showcased a host of different Blood Manipulation techniques. None of them could breach Gojo’s Infinity, but they were also used to slaughter tons of non-sorcerers to put him at a further disadvantage.
In addition to jujutsu, Choso also excels in taijutsu, capable of standing up against a master martial artist like Yuji. Using his whit alongside a host of techniques to contend with Yuji’s strength, Choso overcame his opponent to the degree that he could have ended his life. This is even after Mechamaru helped the Jujutsu High student put the blood manipulator in a situation where he couldn’t control it outside his body.
He is clearly a super powerful character.
They also go on to talk a ton about his high level intellect but we’ll be skipping down into his endurance and hand to hand combat:
Master Hand-to-Hand Combat: As previously stated, Choso excels in unarmed combat and was able to overpower two powerful combatants that fight exclusively at close range, Yuji and Naoya. Enhanced by his cursed techniques, Choso’s martial arts is a threat that can even contend with the likes of Yuji. Enhanced by Blood manipulation, Choso was able to parry and counter Yuji’s martial arts with his own.
Advanced Endurance: As noted by Naoya Zenin, Choso is exceptionally tough. He was able to withstand multiple hits from Yuji, who possesses superhuman strength enhanced with cursed energy and masterful precision in his martial arts technique. The Death Painting Womb was also on the receiving end of consecutive blows hits from Noaya that carried the momentum from him moving at blistering speeds. In both hard-fought battles, Choso was able to endure and come out on top. Choso continued to press on even after his lengthy duel with Yuji as a testament to his stamina as well.
So for this one we’ll be training using calisthenics instead of weights being that we don’t have to train around an obscene amount of strength like we see for a lot of our characters.
That said, the goals for our Choso Inspired Workout are:

- Choso’s Advanced Endurance
For this we’ll use the calisthenics training I mentioned and also some HIIT and cardio.

For this one we’ll be training with four days of intense calisthenics and cardio, one day devoted entirely to endurance work, and a final day that will be our Special Grade Circuit Test for you to take on weekly, biweekly or monthly.

For your endurance, HIIT or MMA/Parkour days you have quite a few options.
You can utilize enforced endurance training that I will program for you based on your fitness level like we do with other workouts here at SHJ…OR you can do 45-60+ minutes of varied cardio (bike, treadmill, elliptical, stairs, row, swim, etc.)…OR you can even use the HIIT resources I’ll provide.
I’ll break it down in that order:
Option One – Run Based on Overall Fitness Level:
