Castlevania: Nocturne is here, which means we obviously need Richter Belmont to join our Anime Workouts Database.
We’ve had a few other Castlevania characters, but we’ve also been waiting for Nocturne to release for quite some time, so this was the best way I could time his release.
And I do want to make mention to the fact that while Richter is lean and quite slim, we are actually going to be looking to accomplish this one with weight training.
Richter has a muscular, toned, slim aesthetic – almost similar to what I’d consider a warrior in the movie 300 to have.
Richter Belmont Stats:
Real Name: Richter Belmont
Weight: 165 lbs.
Anime: Castlevania: Nocturne
Richter is actually slightly above average if we compare him to other male anime characters we’ve seen, but not really that tall when compared to all male characters and celebs we’ve had within our databases.
That said, his 165 pounds seems spot on with the shredded and lean aesthetic he is portrayed with.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.

Richter Belmont Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Richter Belmont Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Richter Belmont we’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom that cooincides with the new Castlevania: Nocturne anime, starting with his brief bio section here:
Richter Belmont is a character and main protagonist in the Netflix original animated series, Castlevania: Nocturne.
They actually don’t give him an appearance section, but hopefully you can kind of make out what we’re working with here.
I would say that we’re most similar to what you’d think of a Spartan warrior like you’d see in a movie like 300.
Lean, slim, toned and shredded muscular aesthetic.
Being that this Wiki Fandom is actually fairly new, I’ll also be pulling some information from his regular Character Profile Wiki Fandom, which is where I also got his specific height and weight stats.
For example, here’s what they tell us about his Vampire Hunting:
Vampire Killer: Once known as The Whip of Alchemy created by Rinaldo Gandolfi, even before it was the Vampire Killer, the Whip of Alchemy is stronger then even a dead man’s discarded sword It is a holy weapon, of forbidden mysteries, that is designed to destroy all who are related to the kindred of the night.
This just gives us a bit more background information, but I’ll still be pulling from the Nocturne Wiki to compare to as well.
Here’s how they break that down for us:
Magic: Richter is a capable mage with a solid grasp of combat magic. He is skilled enough to use elemental magic offensively and defensively.
Immense combat prowess: Richter is an exceptional warrior in peak physical condition.
Peak human endurance and pain tolerance: Richter has outstanding survivability for a mortal man, as he is shown to be able to tank from attacks from vampires.
Weapon mastery: Richter is a highly skilled with his family whip and shortsword. Richter has also shown himself to be capable of employing throwing knives in combat with accuracy.
They also discuss his hand to hand combat, but you should know he has skills there already.
That said, the big thing here is the peak human endurance and pain tolerance.
For the actual goals of our Richter Belmont Inspired Workout are going to be:
- Richter’s Slim but Shredded Muscular Aesthetic
- Richter’s Peak Human Endurance
- Richter’s Mobility and Strength and Speed
So obviously for this we don’t need to train around getting absolutely massive or some superhuman strength level, but we will still be using weights to become lean, strong, nimble and quick.
The priority goals are Richter’s endurance and overall shredded aesthetic, but the rest will come as a bonus perk.
That said, this routine should be okay for the majority of members to jump into, with some potential scaling, but you could also start with one of our Beginner Workouts if it seems a bit too much to get going with.

Richter Belmont Workout Routine
5+ days per week
The last time I used a structure like this was for our Hero Killer, so it only makes sense we come in and use it for our Vampire Killer! You’re going to have 3 days a week devoted to full body training with some additional cardio thrown in to help with our Richter endurance. You’ll also have a day devoted to your Spartan Warrior Physique Circuit Test considering I’ve been mentioned that’s how I picture his physique since the beginner, I think it’s only right we take on the 300 Circuit! And, finally, you’ll have a day devoted each week to entirely endurance work to step it up a notch, which can turn into 2 days per week if you skip the circuit one week here and there.

Richter Belmont Workout: Spartan Warrior Physique Circuit Test
In a perfect world our Academy members or 90 Day System members will use this day to work in our Benchmark Workouts to continue testing and improving scores and tracking them against other members; especially our SHJ Core Benchmarks (although our Hero Benchmarks are just as awesome).
If you are not an Academy member or you don’t have access to a 90 Day System, you can also sub in different circuits here from some of the HIIT resources I provide.
(Another note: You should continue coming back and re-trying to workout every so often to see how much you can improve your score!)
Spartan Warrior Physique Circuit Test: Complete 1-2 Rounds for Time
Pull-Ups: 25 reps
Deadlift: 50 reps at 135
Push-Ups: 50 reps
Box Jumps: 50 reps (ideally done on a 24″ box)
Floor Wipers: 50 reps holding a 135 lb bar
Clean and Press (using a kettlebell or dumbells): 50 reps, 25 per arm ideally with 36 lbs
Pull-Ups: 25 reps

For your endurance, HIIT or MMA/Parkour days you have quite a few options.
You can utilize enforced endurance training that I will program for you based on your fitness level like we do with other workouts here at SHJ…OR you can do 45-60+ minutes of varied cardio (bike, treadmill, elliptical, stairs, row, swim, etc.)…OR you can even use the HIIT resources I’ll provide.
I’ll break it down in that order:
Option One – Run Based on Overall Fitness Level:
Beginner: 1-3 Miles
Intermediate: 3-5 Miles
Advanced: 5+ Miles
