We may be pushing our video game workouts pretty hard, but technically speaking we’re going for a bit of a twist here.
We’re going to be adding Musashi Miyamoto into our Anime Workouts Database from Onimusha on Netflix, but technically he made his first appearance in Blade Warriors.
We’re pretty familiar with powerful swordsmen at this point, but we’re still going to have our work cut out for us.
We’ll be training using weight training for this one, so if you’re looking for a calisthenics workout you’ll want to head into that database instead.
Musashi Miyamoto Stats:
Real Name: Musashi Miyamoto
Height: 5’9
Weight: N/A
Anime: Onimusha
Powers: Yes
Musashi Miyamoto is slightly above average height, but definitely not a behemoth compared to our other male anime characters.
If he grew another foot or so, that would be another story.
Vegeta tied Wolverine for the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Musashi Miyamoto Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Musashi Miyamoto Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Musashi Miyamoto we’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with his bio section here:
Musashi Miyamoto is a young human who first appears as a guest character in Onimusha: Blade Warriors and is set to appear as the main protagonist in the animated Netflix series. He also appears in the Night of Genesis manga as an opponent, and later, a companion, to Jūbei-Akane Yagyū. He looks up to the Onimusha as the pinnacle of strength and begins to call himself one in the hopes that he will one day match that strength in order to endure any hardships. Decades after the events of Night of Genesis, he becomes the latest wielder of the Oni Gauntlet.
This is giving us his full bio, not just specific to Onimusha on Netflix, but all the better for us to work with.
If we move on from there we can actually break down the complete bio they give here:
Musashi makes his first canon appearance in Chapter 5 of Night of Genesis, where he has earned a feared reputation due to challenging the male residents of a village to duels, only to easily defeat them all. After Jūbei is brought to the village by one of its residents, Kuina, she is told of a warrior that calls himself the Onimusha and fights using the Nito-Ryu style. Asuming this to be her uncle, Munenori Yagyū, Jūbei offers to defeat him for them. However, when she meets him, she realizes that he isn’t Munenori, while he claims to have been a Genma slayer for a long time with a kill count of 6,000,000-8,000,000, though Jūbei sees through this lie. He initially overpowers her but falls from a cliff as they begin a rematch. After climbing back up to her while she is relaxing, he discovers her identity as Jūbei Yagyu, though is initially unable to accept it, leading to another fight. This time, Musashi ends up defeated, though Jūbei decides to call their match a draw.
Later, they both return to the village as it is being assaulted by Genma and are forced to team up in order to fight them off. While he proves incapable of killing them due to being purely human, his impressive strength is enough to smash them to pieces, still proving useful to Jūbei as they repel the attack. After Jūbei leaves the village the next day, she finds Musashi waiting for her on the outskirts, who suggests that they go to Osaka in order to gather information on the whereabouts of Munenori, now intent on traveling alongside her.
And just to give some more background information for who we’re dealing with, we’ll go into a bit more depth.
Here’s what they add for his abilities section regarding other specific background sections:
Dual Sword Combination: Since Musashi uses two blades at once many of his weapons are a combination of previously wielded Oni weapons.
Swordsmanship: Miyamoto Musashi is commonly known as the greatest swordsmen of Japan, this swords master was the first person to discover the art of using two swords at once.
Clearly we have our work cut out for us.
The goals for our Musashi Miyamoto Inspired Workout are going to be:
- Musashi Miyamoto’s Shredded Muscular Aesthetic
- Musashi Miyamoto’s Incredible Strength and Speed
- Musashi Miyamoto’s Swordsman Mobility
This one is going to be a bit intense, so if you’re a beginner you may want to start with our Beginner Behemoth Workout or even one of our other Beginner Workouts.
That said, you should be able to scale this one down a bit if you’re really looking to take action as Musashi Miyamoto specifically.
