We haven’t had our original Rin Okumura Workout hit the site in quite some time, and I recently watched the first season of Blue Exorcist again and felt like it needed some love.
I’d actually love to get some more characters on the site as well, but we need a bit more requests for them.
And, if you missed it: this workout is going to be built around calisthenics, and the original was built around weight training.
We’re going to have a fair amount of intensity for this one since Rin is so powerful, but I promise it’ll be well worth it.
Rin Okumura Stats:
Real Name: Rin Okumura
Height: 5’8
Weight: 138 lbs.
Anime: Blue Exorcist
Powers: Yes
Rin is right around average height compared to male anime characters we’ve seen, though he would be considered a bit short if we compared him to male celebs and superheroes.
That said, he’s nearly a foot under what we’d consider a behemoth among our Anime Workouts Database.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Rin Okumura Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Rin Okumura Calisthenics Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Rin we’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page, starting with his brief bio section here:
Rin Okumura is the main protagonist of the Blue Exorcist series. He is the son of Satan and the elder, fraternal twin brother of Yukio Okumura. Studying as an Exwire at True Cross Academy, Rin desires to become a Knight Meister and defeat his biological father.
As the son of Satan is should be pretty obvious why Rin is powerful.
That said, we’ll continue onward into his powers and abilities.
They start off with a big section of his early exorcist career and training:
From the start of his exorcist career as a Page, he lacked formal training because of his more sheltered life when compared to his younger brother, Yukio Okumura who was trained into an exorcist from an earlier age. Although, befitting a nephilim more so a child of Satan who inherited his powers, Rin has incredible potential able to use his full demonic powers in Assiah unlike full-blooded demons who are unable to wield their true powers at the cost of degrading their human vessels, with Mephisto Pheles stated he holds the potential to defeat Satan, which allows him to defeat lower-ranking demons.
However, at the same time, because of his lack of training, Rin is incapable of fighting against the higher-ranked demon, but under the right conditions, he could defeat one of the Eight Demon Kings, Amaimon and the revived Impure King. On both occasions, Amaimon couldn’t use his full powers and he later received assistance from the sworn foe of the Impure King, Ucchusma. Following those battles, Rin has started to become more serious about his Knight training and accepting of his lineage, learning to control his Blue Flames, Rin has become a proficient combatant able to face High-Ranked Demons such as Hachirotaro Okami. A testament of this, was when he was able to survive his full powers after Kurikara broke and learning about his past, before facing Satan who manifest in Yukio’s eye and even burned him out, but would manifest at some point having marked him.
From there they go on to break down his Demon Form, Flames of Satan, Telepathy, Spectral Awareness, High Speed Regeneration and even his Cooking Specialty.
But, what I really want to break down is:
Enhanced Strength: Per his demonic heritage, Rin has incredible strength, giving him the strength to, even as a child, break someone’s ribs with a mere punch.
Knight: Rin is an aspiring Knight Meister, and as such employs a demonic sword as his main weapon, which in his case with his Kurikara. Rin eventually gains enough skill and control with his flames and sword to be able to perform various techniques with his Flames of Satan.
I want to specifically point out his enhanced strength so that when you see the volume of our calisthenics workout you don’t yell at me!
That said, the goals for our Rin Okumura Calisthenics Inspired Workout are going to be:
- Rin Okumura’s Slim and Toned Aesthetic
- Rin Okumura’s Enhanced Strength and Speed
- Rin Okumura’s Stamina and Knight Mobility
This one will have high volume and a decent amount of intensity because of Rin’s power level, but you should still be able to scale down if needed.
If it seems a bit too daunting to do that, then you can also start with our Beginner Ninja Workout or one of the other Beginner Workouts we have.
Check out all The SHJ Programs and start unleashing your inner SuperHuman.
Rin Okumura Workout Routine
Training Volume:
4-5 days per week
Explanation:
