So far we’ve only seen our Yusuke Urameshi Workout Routine from Yu Yu Hakusho.
But, with The SHJ Army blowing up with new anime fans I finally have an excuse to bring in some more!
Starting with our Hiei Workout, I want to also move into Kurama and Kazuma at some point as well. I think they’d make great additions to our Anime Workouts Database.
It’s safe to say Jujutsu Kaisen is quickly growing to be one of the most popular new anime.
Plus, they’re all great characters to draw inspiration from while building out routines.
While we may never have a full mini-workout-database like we do for DBZ, MHA and Naruto, I would still love to build up Yu Yu Hakusho as much as we possibly can!
Hiei Stats:
Real Name: Hiei
Height: 4’10-5’3
Weight: 88 lbs.
Anime: Yu Yu Hakusho
Powers: Yes
Hiei is actually really short, the shortest of the main four characters of Yu Yu Hakusho.
BUT, he is also extremely lean and muscular, so I definitely resonate with his character.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Hiei Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Hiei Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
In my opinion Hiei is a very unique character.
So to start us off I want to jump right to his Wiki Fandom and go over some of his background information before even getting into his powers and abilities that we’ll use to build a routine.
Here’s how they start us off:
Hiei also known as, Jaganshi Hiei (Jaganshi is an epithet meaning “Master of the Evil Eye”), is a main character in the anime and manga series YuYu Hakusho by Yoshihiro Togashi. He is called “Hiei of the Evil Eye” in the Viz manga and Vincent in Filipino dub.
And while I don’t normally dive too much into a character’s appearance (although I do sometimes), being that you can see them enough in the pictures I use here, I think Hiei’s is a pretty cool breakdown [within his Wiki Fandom].
Here’s how they describe him:
Hiei is the shortest of the four main characters at only 4′ 10″ during the Dark Tournament (excluding his hair) as stated by Juri. At the end of the series, an artbook puts him at 5′ 3″. His height is never mentioned in the anime or manga, aside from the DT reference. Despite his short size, he has a lean, muscular build to him. He wears a white headband that conceals his Jagan Eye, which is placed on his forehead and has a purple iris. His eyes are crimson (blood red), with an angular and slightly slanted shape, giving him a very sinister look in the beginning of the series. He has spiky black hair (reminiscent of Vegeta from the Dragon Ball franchise) with blue outlining and white streaks. His skin complexion is regular peach-tan. Despite the similarity to Vegeta in appearance and personality, Hiei was actually based on the character Scunky from Patarillo!.
Maybe I’m just a bit biased because of the comparison to Vegeta.
Hiei’s overall background is also extremely interesting, but being that he has so many unique powers and abilities I won’t be able to fit everything here in one article.
That being said, here’s a quick snippet from his personality section:
Hiei prefers to work on his own agenda, and has a notorious reputation in Demon World as a killer even when he was a D Class demon. Despite this, deep down he has struggled with his identity as a loner and his abandonment.
But get ready for his powers and abilities section, because there’s lot of depth and I will likely have to make some cuts to the descriptions in order to give you everything we need!
They start us off with his fighting style:
Swordsman: Compared to the more calculating Kurama who tends to try to figure out his opponents, the merciless Hiei rarely employs any strategy in his battles and rushes in with a “take no prisoners” mentality, often overwhelming his opponents with sheer brute force and superior speed. He tends to use his sword to quickly defeat weaker enemies at a close range, but will use his much more powerful dark flame manipulation abilities if he views his target as a worthy opponent, or wishes to destroy a large number of enemies at once.
And then they move into his abilities, which I’ll be cutting down to a simple bullet list without description:
- Elemental Resistance
- Enhanced Strength
- Super Speed
- Afterimage
- Enhanced Durability
- Jagan Blinding Curse
- Teleportation
- Jagan Eye
- Jaganshi Form (Basically his green Demon form)
As you can probably immediately pick out, we’ll be revolving this one around his super speed, enhanced strength, and the fact that he is an excellent swordsman and fighter.
His Wiki Fandom also goes on to talk all about his specific techniques, but you can check them out there if you’re curious, because his background information there is also a must read!
