I told you guys we were likely going to see some other Baki Inspired Workouts hit the site before Musashi Miyamoto being that we don’t know when we’ll see him in the Netflix anime, BUT you guys are persistant.
There have been so many requests for Miyamoto after we got our Pickle Inspired Workout that it’s too hard to keep him away from joining our Anime Workouts Database.
Miyamoto is a also a swordsman, and we’re definitely used to those from the tons of other characters we’ve researched and built around already – so this one is going to be a fun one regardless.
He’s also one of the most powerful Baki characters there are – which is definitely saying something – so he’ll really bring our Workout Placement Quiz up a few notches as well.
Musashi Miyamoto Stats:
Real Name: Musashi Miyamoto
Height: 5’11
Weight: N/A
Anime: Baki
Powers: No
Musashi Miyamoto isn’t necessarily one of the behemoths we’ve seen in Baki like Yujiro or Pickle – but he’s also not short like Baki either.
His height range would even technically be slightly above average if compared to all our anime male characters considering the shorter handful we see among the younger ones.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Musashi Miyamoto Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Musashi Miyamoto Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
Musashi Miyamoto is insanely powerful. To get a bit of background to his power level we’ll be starting by pulling from his Wiki Fandom page.
Here’s what they say to start us off:
Musashi Miyamoto is a character and the main opponent from manga series of Baki-Dou. The legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto is said to be the strongest of his time and possibly the strongest samurai ever. He was cloned from tissue in his spine, and Sabuko Tokugawa infused that empty clone with Musashi´s Soul, thus giving him his former memories and skills.
And even saying he is “said to be the strongest of his time and possibly the strongest samurai ever” doesn’t even begin to give us the full scope of his abilities.
Moving into his abilities section, which is extremely long, they lead with this:
Musashi is renowned for his skill in swordsmanship. He is the creator of Niten Ichi-ryuu (Two Swords as One) and the founder of the legendary Niten Ichi-ryu school, which is a sum of all his skills and philosophies. Even at age 17 Musashi often fights as a one-man army and wins battles mostly unharmed. When he was 58 Musashi was still undefeated and became able to use his visual swords endlessly.
From there they move onto a very large paragraph about his strengths as a swordsman:
He is able to swing with such force that he completely destroys a sword that has been in use for more than 60 years. Musashi also broke Retsu’s 9-section whip with his hand. He has amazing grip strength, comparable to Kaoru Hanayama, able to crush bamboo, was able to lift Baki and Retsu Kaiou who weighed more than 100 kg with one hand effortlessly and lift Yuujiro Hanma up with both his hands. When Yuujiro took hold of the blade of his katana and knocked him out with a palm to the face, he is sent flying but his grip on the sword remains strong enough that Yuujiro is sent flying with him. Musashi is even able to cut through the skin of some of the toughest fighters in the series (Baki, Hanayama, Pickle and even Yuujiro himself). Musashi himself is immensely durable and has a high tolerance to pain, taking many blows from Retsu and his whip (which send nails and teeth from the ground on his face and even hit him to his eyes) and still managed to defeat him, endure punches from Hanayama and even from Pickle (as he survived his lean forward push which denting him to a wall) and Yuujiro. His speed is also incredible: he was capable of outrunning vehicles, or shorten the distance between his opponent in the blink of eyes and surprise them unseen. In fact, Musashi is so fast that he is able to make an afterimage or, like Yuujiro, disappear from one place and appear on another, as if it was some sort of teleportation. In addition, he posses one of the fastest reflexes from all fighters from series so far: he was able to dodge and even cut bullets in half in mid-air, counter fast opponent in the paper distance and dodge even punches from the fastest fighters like Baki.
There we also learn how strong, durable and fast he is.
Three things we’ll need to work around while building out this routine.
They continue on, stating:
His skill as a swordsman is, of course, also extreme. He was able to counter Retsu Kaiou’s Shaori, and kill him with a slash to the stomach. With his superhuman strength, he could cut through Pickle’s flesh and cut through Motobe’s aramid fiber chain-mail. Even without a sword, Musashi maintains the ability to cut using his own hands. They are able to cut through 8 bodies and perfectly split a revolver in 2 along with the officer holding it, demonstrating no decrease in potency. Musashi can simulate a sword strike, without having moved an inch, with such accuracy that the people he strikes can feel the nonexistent blade cutting through them and feel it fresh in their mind multiple minutes after. It is powerful enough that Musashi can use it on people who are unaware of his presence, and they would still notice it.
Musashi’s swordsmanship is so brutal that anything less than the perfect weapon will break upon use. He can extend this to people as well: by grabbing them and swinging them like a sword, he is capable of inflicting massive internal damage.
Aside from his swordsmanship, Musashi also seems to have acknowledged of martial arts of his era and many of them mastered, as he can kill people with a single punch, yet relied on his swordsmanship most of the time. His intelligence is very high; in fact, Musashi is a battlefield genius. He is extremely perceptive, thoughtful and has immense wisdom over the arts of war, especially sword fighting. He knows every sword fighting technique there is and many others, which can effectively counter just about every other fighting style in the series. He was so skilled with the sword and in battle, that he learned how to cut people without even using his swords and his mind can pick up the signals of people’s brains when they prepare to attack.
We recently saw a bit about this when we had our Kaiou Retsu Inspired Workout – but now we learn even more about his “superhuman strength” here.
As I said, we have seen a handful of swordsman here, especially within our Demon Slayer Inspired Workout Database – so we know what we’re working with – but Musashi Miyamoto steps us up to a whole new level coming from the world of Baki and being one of the strongest ever.
We’re going to be training with a lot of volume and prioritizing strength and speed, but we’ll also need to focus in on his endurance and durability as a fighter as well – and even throw in some calisthenics training to give us even more body control.
For this I’ll be pulling pieces of our 90 Day Systems like The Superhuman System and Assassin Calisthenics (which has even been used to train new U.S. Marines) – and combining them with tactics we’ve utilized with our Demon Slayer swordsman to really step it up to Miyamoto’s level.
