We’ve been building up our Sports Themed Anime Inspired Workouts, and it wouldn’t be right to have it without Sawamura from Ace of Diamond!
Ironically enough you guys have actually been requesting him a bit more now that I have the sports themed workouts more prominent within our Anime Workouts Database, and he happened to be next up on our list anyway.
We do have a few more scheduled that you guys have requested in the past that fall right into the category, so don’t worry, but Sawamura and Ryoma from Prince of Tennis were two big ones needing to join our Haikyuu, Kuroku and Ao Ashi characters so far.
And of course I did actually add in some of our boxers as well, especially the fighters that don’t specifically fall into their own category (for example Baki, Tokita Ohma, Mikey, etc. all are within their own anime category separately).
Either way, though, our sports anime are taking over and will soon have their own Workout Placement Quiz among our others!
Sawamura Eijun Stats:
Real Name: Sawamura Eijun
Height: 5’9
Weight: 143 lbs.
Anime: Ace of Diamond
Powers: No
Sawamura wouldn’t be considered extremely tall, but he does come in a bit above average height compared to what we’ve seen among male anime characters.
That said, he would likely be below average if compared to superheroes or even male celebrities.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Sawamura Eijun Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Sawamura Eijun Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Sawamura and what we’ll be working with to build out our workout I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page, starting with a bio section they give us stating:
Sawamura Eijun is the protagonist of the series. He comes from the prefecture of Nagano (Ina, Nagano), where he played baseball at Akagi Junior High. He is a left-handed pitcher who was promoted from the second string to the first string as No. 20 for the Summer Tournament, and later on No. 18 at the start of the Fall Tournament. In Act II, he becomes Seidou’s ace in his second year by the start of the Summer Regional Tournament.
I personally played baseball up until college, so I’m happy to be getting Sawamura on the site.
I know we have a lot of younger members in The SHJ Army that are sports players, which is a reason why I prioritized The Sports Themed Anime Database, and one of the reasons I’ll be building this one around calisthenics training.
When I turned around 16-17 I started lifting much heavier and eventually got into bodybuilding and my journey to SHJ started, but prior to that I was doing mainly cardio and calisthenics while playing baseball – so we’re going to be doing the same.
We’ve also researched a few baseball players within our Celebrity Workouts Database, so I’ll be pulling from that research as well as I write this one out.
When we move into Sawamura’s abilities this section is more about his skills as a baseball player (which makes sense) and not what we’re used to seeing among our characters.
Here’s how his Wiki Fandom page leads with his overall skill level:
Sawamura’s strengths are his infallible spirit, bunting, infield defense, and his idiosyncratic pitches. His weaknesses at the beginning were batting, outfield defense, and his pitching control. Since his 2nd year, Sawamura has considerably improved the speed of his pitch, his control and can connect with the ball now – if he does it from the bunting stance.
We’re okay with this considering we’ve seen more pitchers in our Workout Database than any other position.
So here are the goals of our Sawamura Eijun Inspired Workout:
- Sawamura’s Lean and Toned Physique
- Sawamura’s Arm Strength
- Baseball Endurance Training
The main goals will be a lean and toned physique and strength, core and endurance work for becoming a well rounded player, but we won’t be making this routine too intense.
It will follow a similar structure to our Beginner Ninja Workout but increase the volume in certain areas to make it a unique routine for Sawamura.
