We can’t build out our Image Comics Inspired Workouts without having Savage Dragon join the fun.
We’ve seen a ton of Invincible characters, and obviously Spawn, and now we had a handful of other random Image Comics characters show up within our Superhero Workouts Database to help round it out a bit.
Savage Dragon is a super cool character that not only had his comics, but also made his way into an animated series as well.
He’ll definitely be joining some of our other behemoths with a heavy weightlifting routine, so if you’re here hoping for a calisthenics workout you’ve unfortunately ventured off into the wrong place.
But, you can always go back into the full databases and sort by calisthenics and bodyweight training – it’ll just take a lot more work if your goal is to get as savage as Kurr Dragon.
Savage Dragon Stats:
Real Name: Kurr Dragon (Emperor Kurr)
Height: 6’3 (more on this below)
Weight: 222 lbs.
Comics: Savage Dragon (Image Comics)
Powers: Yes
I actually expected Kurr Dragon to be much taller and weigh a lot more.
But 6’3 and 222 pounds is still pretty damn large – and we can tell by his appearance that he has a TON of mass.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Savage Dragon Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Savage Dragon Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Savage Dragon I’ll be pulling from a couple different sources, starting with his Wiki Fandom page, which leads us off with a super brief bio:
The Savage Dragon, also known as Officer Dragon, is the titular comic book hero of the same name.
I do want to also point out that in another Wiki source that I’ll be pulling some of his powers from they actually list Savage Dragon as 5’10 (6’6 at the top of his fin), and 450 lbs.
That 450 pounds actually seems more in line with what I’d expect from his clear insane amounts of mass.
Here’s what they list for his powers section:
Emperor Kurr has vast superhuman strength. His legs are strong enough to enable him to leap a maximum height of 460 feet straight up in the air, and a maximum distance of 945 feet. He is capable of lifting (pressing) approximately 34 tons. He is very nearly impervious to flame. His skin acts like a bullet proof vest; a bullet isn’t capable of penetrating it but a sharp knife thrust by a super human arm can.
But I also want to pull a full breakdown from his other Wiki Fandom page.
They go into a bit different approach for the breakdown:
- Enhanced Krylan Physiology: Savage Dragon is the “Chosen One”, a member of the Krylan royal bloodline. His status as an enhanced Krylan gives him access to numerous superhuman abilities.
- Superhuman Durability: Savage Dragon’s skin is extremely resistant to damage, bullets and fire are ineffective against him and he can survive point blank explosions and blows from superhumanly strong foes with minimal damage, apparently the only way to pierce his skin is with extremely sharp weapons.
- Regeneration: His metabolism grants him the ability to heal faster and more efficiently than the healthiest human, he can regenerate entire limbs and organs and can recover from life-threatening injuries in mere days.
- Superhuman Agility: Despite his large size, Dragon is surprisingly fast and agile. He is capable of leaping fairly large distances, and high enough to jump over a 2-story house.
- Superhuman Stamina: Dragon can fight for prolonged periods of time without getting tired
- Superhuman Strength: Savage Dragon possesses high levels of physical strength, he can easily punch through concrete, bend metal with his hands and was able to hold his own in fights against much stronger foes.
- Telepathic Resistance: Dragon has developed an high level of resistance against telepathic assaults, most forms of mind control simply don’t work on him anymore.
Which makes our goals for this workout pretty clear.
Our goals for the Savage Dragon Inspired Workout are:
- Savage Dragon’s Massive Aesthetic
- Savage Dragon’s Superhuman Strength
- Savage Dragon’s Superhuman Stamina/Agility
The priority is his mass and strength, but the agility will come with that and we’ll also have some training to build endurance as well.
This one will be an intermediate to advanced level workout so if you want to start with Beginner Behemoth and then move up to this one that could work well for some newcomers.
Check out all The SHJ Programs and start unleashing your inner SuperHuman.
Savage Dragon Workout Routine
Training Volume:
5 days per week
Explanation:
For this one we’re going to be training with 5 days of weight training and then a final day devoted to an Emperor Circuit Test that you can tack on top weekly, biweekly or monthly when you want to scale up. We’ll also have some optional endurance included within our daily lifting, so it will be your job to include that as needed/desired.
