Today we’re going to be mixing it up and switching off of our Anime Workouts Database to bring in Percy Jackson!
We haven’t had many characters that have come out of books (other than manga) unless they were adapted from comic books, but you guys always enjoy when we do have a chance to bring them in.
One of the biggest characters we have been able to bring into SHJ that was a massive success from a book character is Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher Series.
I’m hoping Percy Jackson adds another layer to that by giving us a different age group to inspired with Percy.
For this one we will be training with strictly bodyweight training to bring Percy into our calisthenics workouts and make this one available to more members of The SHJ Army.
Percy Jackson Stats:
Real Name: Percy Jackson
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Books/Movies/Show: Percy Jackson Series
Powers: Yes
We don’t have a specific height range for Percy, but we can take an educated guess and say it is anywhere from 5’8-5’11 based on actors chosen for the role and variables within the books.
I would normally have guessed 5’10 or taller, but Logan Lerman, who plays Percy in the movies, is only about 5’8.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Percy Jackson Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Percy Jackson Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Percy Jackson I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page which starts out with this bio section:
Perseus “Percy” Jackson is a seventeen-year-old Greek demigod, the son of Poseidon and Sally Jackson. He is the main protagonist and narrator of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and one of the main characters of The Heroes of Olympus series. He is the former head counselor at Poseidon’s Cabin and a former Praetor of the Twelfth Legion at Camp Jupiter, formerly belonging to the legion’s Fifth Cohort. He was the temporary host of the Egyptian goddess Nekhbet. Percy is currently the boyfriend of Annabeth Chase.
It is not easy to attempt to train like a demigod, but we’re going to give it our best shot for this one.
While most images of Percy show him young and slender, I do want to also break down the fact that he is quite muscular.
We’re not talkin’ Dwayne Johnson muscular, we’re talking athletic and aesthetic muscular like an athlete.
Here’s what his Wiki Fandom says within his appearance section:
At the beginning of the series, Percy was average in athletics but later from his training, becomes very fit, muscular, and lean. He obtained a gray streak of hair in The Titan’s Curse from holding the sky but has since lost it, as stated in The Mark of Athena. After he slew Polybotes in The Son of Neptune, Percy received a tattoo of a trident and SPQR on the underside of his left arm to signify that he is a full member of the Roman Twelfth Legion Fulminata. After their reunion in The Mark of Athena, Annabeth says that Percy grew even more handsome, muscular, taller, and tanner.
They lead with him being “very fit, muscular and lean” and then even finish off the section by stating that he “grew even more handsome, muscular, taller and tanner”.
So while we will be looking to build a muscular, lean and athletic aesthetic while also training around some of Percy’s powers.
Percy’s Wiki Fandom page discusses his archery, swordsmanship, wit, leadership and even his Demigod and Magical powers, but what we’re really going to be looking for here are the physical enhancements that come with being the son of Poseidon.
Here’s what I’m pulling for us:
- Superhuman Durability: Being a demigod son of one of the Big Three, Percy is more durable than regular humans and fellow demigods. He shook off a hard kick in the chest from Ares, speedily recovered from a dodgeball thrown by a Laistrygonian Giant, brushed off from a whack in the chest by a giant, shook off hard hits from the Titan Atlas, and withstood a hard blow from Kronos without the Curse of Achilles.
- Superhuman Strength: Being a demigod son of one of the Big Three, Percy is considerably stronger than a regular mortal and demigod. He can strangle a snake when he was a toddler, rip out the Minotaur’s horn, topple a seemingly insurmountably strong Polyphemus, snap Clarisse’s second electric spear “like a twig”, knock out demigods with one hit, and force the tip of Porphyrion’s spear into the ground while the giant was running, causing the giant’s own momentum to flip himself over. He had even held on a ledge, while supporting Annabeth’s and his own weight with just his fingers, without much discomfort.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Being a demigod son of one of the Big Three, Percy’s reflexes are faster than a regular human. He was able to cut a volley of arrows in half in The Sea of Monsters and deflect a bullet that can travel 1,700 miles per hour in The Titan’s Curse, even though he could barely see the bullet.
- Superhuman Agility: Being a demigod son of one of the Big Three, Percy is more agile than a regular mortal. He was able to leap on the huge Minotaur neck, dodge several slashes from Ares, and climb up to Anteaus’ head in a matter of seconds.
The good news is that all of these abilities work great for our physical appearance goals as well.
That means the goals for our Percy Jackson Inspired Workout are:
- Percy Jackson’s Lean, Muscular and Athletic Physique
- Percy Jackson’s Superhuman Strength
- Percy Jackson’s Superhuman Agility
As I mentioned above: we’re going to be training with calisthenics training which means strictly bodyweight movements and no need for weights.
That said, we will still be increasing the intensity a bit to make sure we’re shooting for the goals of a demigod.
This one should still be good for beginners to jump into and scale down a bit, but more geared for the intermediate level athlete.
If you’d like to start with one of our Beginner Workouts your best bet would be The Beginner Ninja Workout before moving your way into this one and stepping it up a notch.
