The amount of new SHJ Army members flooding in these last few months for Anime Workouts Database is actually crazy.
For months I have been talking about how Netflix shared details about the insane amount of viewership they saw in 2020 on anime; and now here we are with it being the top requested type of workout.
Of course our Workout Database is still getting new workouts of every style, but anime seems to be flourishing.
We’ve actually had a couple Fairy Tail inspired workouts already at SHJ, and Laxus Dreyar requests were coming in a bunch, making it hard to ignore.
Laxus Dreyar Stats:
Real Name: Laxus Dreyar
Weight: 240 lbs.
Anime: Fairy Tail
Laxus Dreyar would fall among average celebrity male height, but his weight puts him into a category of HUGE men we’ve seen.
We’ve talking big and jacked like Dwayne Johnson, who is also two inches taller at the same weight.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.

Laxus Dreyar Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Laxus Dreyar Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
Right off the bat we can acknowledge Dreyar is jacked.
But if we start by pulling directly from his Wiki Fandom to learn a little about him, they give us a brief bio:
Laxus Dreyar is an S-Class Mage of the Fairy Tail Guild. He is the grandson of Fairy Tail’s Guild Master, Makarov Dreyar, and the son of Raven Tail’s Master, Ivan Dreyar. After Fairy Tail’s disbandment, he joined the Blue Pegasus Guild along with the members of the Thunder God Tribe. However, after the guild’s reformation, he rejoined Fairy Tail again along with the Thunder God Tribe.
Similar to other Fairy Tail characters we won’t be able to build our routine too much around his magic, BUT it helps that he has muscles and shredded abs.
That being said, it’s still nice to break down some of his powers and abilities anyway.
For the sake of not making this article quadruple in size I’m going to cut down each explanation that his Wiki Fandom shares for each and every power and ability and just list them.

This is going to consist of weight training with some mixed in alternative options like mixed martial arts (if you want to develop hand-to-hand combat like Dreyar), high intensity interval training, parkour, or even endurance work.

We’re going to have 4 days of weight training per week to focus in on Dreyar’s physique and strength, and then it’s up to you if you want to add in another 1-2 days of optional training.
