In my opinion Assassination Classroom is extremely underrated.
There are definitely tons of anime fans, like you and I, out there that love it, BUT I think it should get a lot more love sometimes.
We have had a few characters join us so far, like Korosensei and Karma, but now it’s time to bring in Nagisa Shiota and work our way through some other fan favorites.
Korosensei came in at number fifteen among the most powerful anime characters of all time – so anyone who is training under him is likely someone we want to be able to try to train like.
These are also super fun characters to be able to work around calisthenics training for you guys (with the exception of Korosensei, of course) considering we’re talking about light, toned, agile assassins!
Nagisa Shiota Stats:
Real Name: Nagisa Shiota
Height: 5’3
Weight: 106 lbs.
Anime: Assassination Classroom
Powers: No
Nagisa is one of the shortest characters we’ve seen among our male anime characters thus far.
And he’s dwarfed even more by the addition of behemoths in our Anime Workouts Database like Superalloy Darkshine (who was just added this week as well) and others.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Nagisa Shiota Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Nagisa Shiota Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Nagisa Shiota we’re going to be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom, starting off with:
Nagisa Shiota is a student in Korosensei’s Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School and the main protagonist and narrator of Assassination Classroom. Despite his overall passive nature, Nagisa has a natural talent for assassination.
Even with his natural talent for assassination, Nagisa Shiota does have his weaknesses, which actually makes him a fun character to be working around.
We already know that Nagisa is extremely small compared to most male characters we’ve seen, and when we move into his abilities we’ll learn he is also quite weak – but is able to be extremely successful despite all of that.
Here’s what they tell us about his Assassination abilities:
Assassination: Nagisa’s physical abilities are mediocre, and it is worthy to note that he is one of the weakest amongst the boys as his constitution and strength are more easily comparable to a female of his age. However, Nagisa has an extraordinary amount of natural talent as an assassin due to his impressive observant nature, his remarkable stealthy movements, and his immense bloodlust. This inclination has also been made apparent numerous times during the span of the story, such as his duels against Takaoka, his fight against Karma, and Korosensei respectively. Several other characters such as Karma and Maehara have noted that he is full of surprises – one can never know when or where Nagisa will aim to strike, and his talent in the art of assassination has garnered respect from even those who are not his peers to the point that others have commented on the potential Nagisa possessed that could be fulfilled in the role of a professional hitman. In the end, though, Nagisa does not pursue this path and decides to use his abilities to help others in the same way Korosensei did: teaching to a “problematic class”.
They also go on to talk more about his bloodlust that they make mention to above:
Bloodlust: Nagisa possesses a massive amount of hidden bloodlust despite his initial character, impression, and appearance which can affect his opponents in varying ways; the most significant, powerful reaction can involve immobilization and an inability to counterattack or to fight back, and this type of reaction affects even trained professional assassins. This is made very clearly evident for the first time during his mock assassination with Takaoka, and another early event is the incident when two of his old classmates threatened him, sparked the interest of all three of Class E’s main faculty. When Nagisa’s bloodlust is released or directed at someone, it is metaphorically represented as a large, blood-soaked snake coiled around his target with its fangs bared and ready to strike at any moment.
On top of that they also discuss (in depth on the Wiki page):
- People Reading/Discernment
- Marksmanship
- Kiss of Death
So most of Nagisa’s skills come from his bloodlust and ability to read people and take advantage of the situation and stealth-like tactics.
For that reason we’re going to be full working this one around a few things (while using calisthenics):
- Assassin-Like Toned Physique
- Body Control and Maneuvering for Stealth
- Endurance and Stamina Work
All of this will and can be achieved with bodyweight training, and I’ll also be adding in some bonus resources for those of you wanting to step it up a notch or two.
On top of that I’ll be building this one out around a beginner level, so if you want to scale up you can turn these movements into beginner level OR take on another workout among our calisthenics workouts.
