We recently posted a top ten most muscular JoJo character list to our social pages and Risotto came in among some of the honorable mentions, so I had to make sure he got his slot.
Our JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Inspired Workouts hosts some of the most routines out of all our mini databases, and Nero is going to be bringing in that much more shred.
We may be used to massive Joestar physiques, but Nero is a great character to add another calisthenics workout and focus on a lean and toned aesthetic.
He didn’t quite make it onto our lists of the most powerful JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure characters, or even the most popular JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure characters, but once I named him on the muscular list you guys were right there with me in wanting to add him to the site (which was very clear when I checked the requests you were making).
Risotto Nero Stats:
Real Name: Risotto Nero
Height: 6’1
Weight: N/A
Anime/Manga: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
Powers: Yes
Nero is actually quite tall. He’s not considered a behemoth among the male characters within our Anime Workouts Database, being about a half a foot off, but he does increase our average height a bit.
We don’t have a specific weight for him, but we can guess it to be anywhere from 165-185 judging by his muscle mass.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.

Risotto Nero Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero.**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.

Risotto Nero Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To learn more about Risotto Nero I’ll be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page starting with what they tell us here:
Risotto Nero is a major antagonist featured in Vento Aureo.
Risotto Nero is the leader of La Squadra Esecuzioni and sends his squad-mates to battle Team Bucciarati; all in order to kidnap the Boss’ daughter Trish Una, as part of their plans to discover her father’s true identity. After all of his squad-mates fall in the course of their mission, Risotto pursues Team Bucciarati himself to the island of Sardinia. However, there he becomes wound up in a confrontation with Vinegar Doppio on a beach in Costa Smeralda.
Risotto is a Stand User and uses the dangerous magnetic abilities of Metallica present within his own blood to manipulate the metals in his surroundings.
Although Nero didn’t come in as one of the most powerful characters among our JoJo Universe, that doesn’t mean he’s not extremely strong.
But, for the bulk of this one we’ll be working around his overall aesthetic.
For that reason I’m also going to be sharing his entire appearance section they share as well:
Risotto Nero is a 28-year-old man of above average height and possesses a tall and muscular build.
He wears a black, hood-like headpiece from which hang several small, metallic baubles, bearing letters that make up his name. This piece hides his hair; though his light bangs (originally dark) almost reach his eyebrows. Light-eyed, his sclera are completely black.
Bare-chested, he wears a long, black, lapelless coat with straps crossing his chest in an X; and pants in thick horizontal stripes of black and white.
While I could have just quoted the very first line, emphasizing the fact that they make specific mention of his muscular build, I also wanted to keep the rest for any of our cosplayers in The SHJ Army.
That said, I will also be including his abilities considering it wouldn’t be an SHJ workout research section without them…
Here’s how his Fandom breaks them down for us:
Stand: Risotto’s Stand, Metallica, comprises a mass of minuscule beings residing in his bloodstream, enabling him to manipulate iron through magnetism at a short-range.
Tactical Intelligence: Risotto is a gifted tactician, showing a grasp of Stand fights rarely witnessed in the series. Risotto could find multiple applications for his Stand Metallica, as well as deduce critical facts from observations such as Doppio’s status as a Stand user. In a fight, Risotto keeps tabs on the enemy’s abilities and moves, deducing their next moves with precision and making them work against them. His methodical approach of assassinations and the tendency to quickly kill his targets before they could act nearly killed Doppio multiple times despite his ability to predict the future.
As I mentioned above: the majority of our workout is going to be built on his build.
That means the goals for our Risotto Nero Inspired Workout are:
- Risotto Nero’s Slim and Toned Physique

- Risotto Nero’s Strength and Speed
Since we aren’t building his one out around an extremely overpowered character with immense strength, speed and other abilities we’re used to seeing among our anime characters it gives us a chance to build this workout in a minimalistic way.
We still want to achieve Nero’s aesthetic, with his shredded abs and toned muscles, but we’ll be aiming to do it in a very straightforward way that focuses heavily on the vanity aspects of our goals.
With that said, you shouldn’t have to scale this one down at all, but if you do you can start with one of our Beginner Workouts, with our Beginner Ninja Workout being the ideal choice.

For this one you have 3 days of basic aesthetic calisthenics training, a day devoted to fat burning endurance and a final day for our La Squadra Esecuzioni Circuit Test that you can complete weekly, biweekly or monthly as you’d like.

In a perfect world our Academy members or 90 Day System members will use this day to work in our Benchmark Workouts to continue testing and improving scores and tracking them against other members; especially our SHJ Core Benchmarks (although our Hero Benchmarks are just as awesome).

For your endurance or HIIT days you have quite a few options.
You can utilize enforced endurance training that I will program for you based on your fitness level like we do with other workouts here at SHJ…OR you can do 45-60+ minutes of varied cardio (bike, treadmill, elliptical, stairs, row, swim, etc.)…OR you can even use the HIIT resources I’ll provide.
I’ll break it down in that order:
Option One – Run Based on Overall Fitness Level:
Beginner: 1-3 Miles
Intermediate: 3-5 Miles
Advanced: 5+ Miles
