Another week of Hunter X Hunter Inspired Workouts coming in hot!
We actually have a ton of different anime joining our Anime Workouts Database this week, but Hunter X Hunter is one of them, for a second week straight.
Last week we had our Chrollo Lucilfer Workout join the gang of hunters we’ve already seen – and we’re getting closer to being able to get some Hunter X Hunter listicles and even eventually a mini-workout-database dedicated to the show.
We’ve actually now seen a ton of characters like Gon, Hisoka, Killua, Kurapika, Leorio, and Isaac Netero!
I have plans for another handful of characters to flood in, but those and just a couple more will do the trick for some of the most popular Hunter X Hunter characters EVER!
Meruem Stats:
Real Name: Meruem
Height: 5’5
Weight: N/A
Anime: Hunter X Hunter
Powers: Yes
Meruem is short, and I’m allowed to say that because I’m around his height – maybe an inch short if it’s a good day.
Although technically he’s right around the average height we’ve been seeing around male anime characters here at SHJ.
Wolverine was the shortest spot among comic characters we’ve seen at 5’3, prior to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in at 5’2, (and Gimli even shorter) – but Damian Wayne (Robin) is only 5’4. Goku isn’t that tall either, though, standing only 5’7, with Miles Morales only an inch above him.
One Punch Man falls in at 5’9 right there with Ryu, Nightwing at 5’10, and then Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Green Arrow coming in around 5’11 and Beast joining them.
We’ve had Superman and Eddie Brock’s Venom at 6’3, and Captain America, Scorpion and Batman at 6’2, and Carnage at 6’1. Thor and Cyborg are towering over them at 6’6, Thanos and King right there with them at 6’7, Bane at 6’8, and Deathstroke right below at 6’5, and Black Manta at 6’4.
Ronan and Sagat are 7’5, and Doomsday came in at 8’10, and I doubt any characters are touching that anytime soon.
But, don’t worry if you’re not the same height or weight range.
We write these routines to be utilized by anyone and everyone.

Mureum Diet and Nutrition
**Keep in mind: this section will be nearly identical for each hero, unless I mentioned differently (for example someone like Hulk may get something specifically different)**
Every hero needs to still have a good diet.
Unfortunately we can train like them, but I don’t think any of us are suddenly getting their powers, or the ability to magically stop caring about nutrition.
You can’t out train your diet, so I want to still give some pillars for nutrition.
You can start by checking out The Nutrition Pillars on the site, but I’ll break down some more information for you guys as well.
Guys like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart incorporate 80/20 dieting with big weekly cheat meals, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hopper, Benedict Cumberbatch and Terry Crews utilize intermittent fasting (something I use daily as well), Ariana Grande, Mustafa Shakir and Madelaine Petsch are vegans, Brandon Routh and Frank Grillo opt for paleo, and tons of others utilize their own variations as well.
It’s all about sustainability.
AND, there are a thousand different ways to reach your goals, so finding the most sustainable way is what’s important.
Which is why our Academy utilizes multiple different Nutrition Classes (Greek Gods, Vikings, Spartans, Hunter Gatherers, Monks, Samurais, Minimalists, SuperHumans) to allow people to choose what is right for YOU!
Curious where over a hundred celebs fall in their dietary choices ranging from High Protein and Keto to Vegetarian, Vegan and Intermittent Fasting? Want exclusive celeb meal plans? Check this out.

Meruem Workout Routine Research
We’ve made it to “the fun part”.
And, if you don’t know by now, I say that every single time we get to the workout routine research section for character workouts.
To start building out our Meruem inspired workout we’re going to need to learn a bit more about him.
For that we’re going to be pulling right from his Wiki Fandom page, starting with his bio here:
Meruem was the most powerful offspring of the Chimera Ant Queen. He was known as the “King” of the Chimera Ants, and served as the main antagonist of the Chimera Ant arc.
For his character I also think it’s relevant to discuss his overall appearance in this case as well.
Here’s how his Wiki page describes that for us:
Meruem had a rather humanoid build for an Ant. He was muscular and toned, despite his relatively small frame as compared to his servants. He had two long antennae on his ears and a large shell-like armor over his head that resembled a helmet. There were dark pigmented areas on his arms, legs, chest, and head. Meruem was always barefoot. He possessed a powerful tail equipped with a stinger that served as his weapon. Both his hands and feet had only four digits each.
So we are actually going to be training for a muscular physique, even though we’re technically working around a character that isn’t really a human.
Not like we’re not used to that by now…
Moving into some of the meat and potatoes (the good stuff), his Wiki Fandom gets into his powers and abilities section.
They start off by telling us a bit of an overview on how powerful he is:
Despite being a newborn, Meruem is the most powerful character to be introduced in the series thus far, as well as the one with the highest learning ability. Born as the ultimate biological weapon, his tremendous physical prowess is only matched by an unparalleled intellect, both of which seem to place him well above the realm of human possibility. As the King of the Chimera Ants, his power exceeds even that of the Royal Guards, and he can increase it even further by consuming Nen users. He fought Isaac Netero, formerly considered the strongest Nen user in the world, who retained a fearsome level of power even in his old age, while trying not to kill him, a condition Meruem likened to playing chess without a rook and bishop, and won their physical confrontation. After the absorption of most of Shaiapouf’s and Menthuthuyoupi’s bodies, Knuckle believed that military power at the state level would be necessary to match him. As the king of a colony of Chimera Ants, Meruem has authority over the Royal Guards and the ability to procreate with females from different species.
When they move onto his list of powers they do give a breakdown for each section if you’d like to read deeper on the actual Wiki page, but for this one I’ll keep it to just listing what we’re going to be working with here:
- Unfathomable Strength
- Unfathomable Speed and Reflexes
- Unfathomable Agility
- Immense Stamina
- Unfathomable Durability
- Immense Pain Tolerance
- Immense Poison Resistance
- Supergenius-Level Intellect
- Proficient Hand-to-Hand Combatant
Now I’m not going to be teaching you how to be a super genius and chess master, that one might be a different site…Superhero Brainiac…BUT I will be building this out to work us towards the unfathomable strength, speed, reflexes, agility and stamina!
Hopefully that sounds nearly as interesting.
Think you can handle it?
